About Us

New Grass Bison are raised the natural way – on Midwestern land, grazing on fresh, native prairie grasses. Because of this ‘green’ approach we never use harmful steroids, hormones, or antibiotics found in mass-produced meats, and nutritional value is hugely enhanced.

We work with quality-minded small to medium-size farmers and ranchers who raise bison in their native environment.

New Grass Bison Co. was established in Kansas City, MO in 2001. Our goal is to incorporate healthy, non-invasive farming techniques to provide you with the highest quality, best tasting bison meat products available anywhere.

Jeff Adair, Founder
Jeff is the passion and vision behind New Grass Bison Co. Jeff’s military upbringing instilled within him a work ethic and discipline to see and reach his goals, and his exploration of life has given him a love and respect for the earth, interwoven into his business principles. Jeff founded New Grass Bison Co. in 2001 to create an sustainable food production and distribution system that offers natural, healthy food to consumers.

Steve Dubinsky, Marketing Director
A fifteen-year marketing veteran, Steve Dubinsky has touched virtually every type of protein fit for human consumption, and increased said consumption with his innovative and strategic marketing skills. After earning his MBA from University of Missouri, Steve led the national launch of Tyson refrigerated lunch meat, achieving 50% national distribution before leaving to join ConAgra, where he contributed to a greater-than-tenfold increase in warehouse club channel sales. As marketing director for Smithfield’s John Morrell & Co. division, he contributed to three consecutive years of record profits before leaving for the agency side, where he led the award-winning “Raised in the USA” program, for The Catfish Institute. In 2004, Steve founded strategic marketing network to provide “big firm thinking” to smaller businesses requiring sound marketing advise, but unable to pay the high fees demanded from leading agencies.

Jeff Erickson, Sales Manager
We all need food to survive, but Jeff Erickson has made a career out of food. After nearly a decade in restaurant management and managing large contract feeding operations for major health care providers, Jeff repositioned himself to the sales side of the table. That was fifteen years ago. Today, Erickson Marketing provides sales and marketing expertise to some of the nation’s fastest growing meat companies, like Creekstone Farms and Seaboard Foods, as well as New Grass Bison Co.

Wayne Copp, Wayne Farms
Wayne has farmed his land since 1975. He owns and manages cattle, horses, sheep, and goats, as well as buffalo. While Wayne farms using simple and natural methods, he holds a degree in economics from Washburn University, and is involved in a number of academic research in conjunction with Kansas State University, Colorado State University, and Texas A&M. He has been a guest speaker at numerous conservation and livestock meetings, and served on panels to discuss conservation and livestock production with the Kansas Buffalo Association and Missouri Department of Conservation. Wayne is an active member in the Kansas Buffalo Association and has been a supplier to New Grass Bison Co. since 2003.
